Project Abstract

Commercial Project

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is inviting your firm to submit a proposal for Construction
Management services for the renovation and new construction of a 23,600 square foot education and research facility in the life sciences field located in the ASC region 1 of the United States. The facility construction and renovation will
consist of steel framed construction, masonry façade with point supported glazed wall entrance, extensive MEP systems and specialty equipment. The completed facility will consist of a working basement, first floor and penthouse levels. The surrounding area of the facility consists of a controlled environment that will require to be maintained at all times during construction. Logistics, coordination with contractors outside this scope (Owner controlled), and tenant relationships will be key to a successful project.

It is the intention of Whiting-Turner to enter into a GMP contract with the selected contractor who meets or exceeds the following criteria:

Note: The judges will be looking for ethical, creative and innovative solutions to the project challenges,
knowledge of the contract documents, problem solving, coordination, quality control, adherence to safety, budgeting,
scheduling methods, and communication skills. Innovation in the aforementioned is expected, the utilization of boilerplate materials will be frowned upon and will result in point deductions.

The complete project scope is under development and will be presented in the RFP and contract documents the
day of the competition.
