It is one month to the competition! This is usually high time for team prep for all the schools that are participating in this year’s Region 1 competition. We want to see how you are all doing! Snap a picture of your groups’ prep session, upload it to Instagram and then add hashtag #ascregion1. Also, feel free to use this hashtag throughout the event in Albany. As you may know, we recently set up our social media presences on Instagram and Twitter (Facebook will come shortly). Make sure you start following us! Today’s email is the first call to action where we can put those accounts to good use in our region.

Registration for the 2022 Associated Schools of Construction, Region 1 Conference and Competition is NOW OPEN!

We are proud to announce that registration is now open for Region 1 Conference and Competition!  We are excited to have you be a part of this annual event, now in its 33rd year, hosted at the Hilton Downtown, in Albany, NY on 11-12 November 2022.

The following lays out the instructions for registration for those college/universities/institution faculty and students that are seeking to participate in the competition or training/presentation sessions.  Registration is a three step process for all those from schools that are already members in good standing with ASC. Deadline for registration is 4 October 2022.

Step 1:  For those that are looking to compete in the student competition fill out the 2022 ASC Region 1 Competition Category & Team Sign-Up form at this link:  https://forms.gle/FaFCoM1SJtrMMveo6.  Please note that teams will be required to upload the ASC Region 1 competition Pre-Qualification form as part of registration (form attached in fill-able and PDF format).  For those students, faculty, or industry partners that are interested in only attending the training & presentations portion of the conference, or are faculty that are not coaches for any particular competing team, please register at this link:  https://forms.gle/aTTAzU9PZwnbC9ZP7.

Step 2:  For those needing hotel accommodations, please use one of these two forms:  1) for competing teams and faculty:  https://drive.google.com/file/d/14uvGouprxNsWid7093egIKJzGnInV5Ua/view?usp=sharing; 2) for judging firms and industry partners that wish to have hotel accommodations:  https://drive.google.com/file/d/14pP4Q1ENZeHUNEk9-B9NZj9mckhPg7Zl/view?usp=sharing.  Forms must be returned by the registration deadline to Prof. Wayne Sheppard, Pennsylvania College of Technology, (570) 651-3003, .  If colleges/universities/institutions wish to bring additional students and faculty, please indicate the numbers of each category (faculty & Students) and the number of rooms needed in addition to the competing teams at the bottom of the applicable form.

Step 3:  Pay for your registration.  This is accomplished by navigating to this link to pay your $400/team/category registration fee:  https://www.ascweb.org/members/payments/student-competition.  Those just attending for the training & presentations portion of the conference, information on paying for your  registration will be forthcoming or available on-site.

Once all three steps are completed, you will be fully registered for the competition.  Reminder, the deadline to register is 4 October 2022

In addition to the pre-qualification form, a copy of the problem statements from our judging firms are also attached to help you understand the exciting challenges that lay before you.

Please ensure you submit soon to be able to secure your spot in the competition!  See you all in November!
